STM and Politeama inaugurate Tuscany’s first training hub for Musical Theater disciplines

A new location for Scuola del Teatro Musicale in Prato officially opens in fall 2021, with new and multifaceted educational offerings dedicated to young fans of Musicals.

Adding to the traditional experience of the Teatro Politeama Pratese is the established expertise of STM, which also counts Prato among its existing venues in Novara (at Teatro Coccia) and Milan (at Teatro degli Arcimboldi).

It is a real pleasure for STM to enter into this collaboration with the Teatro Politeama Pratese, which for more than 20 years has been working with the Arteinscena school to research and train young performing arts talent. The new project constitutes, in fact, the first educational hub for Musical Theater disciplines in Tuscany, donating continuity to the prestigious and esteemed work of the school’s founder Roberta Betti (recently deceased).

The educational offerings are divided into 3 different proposals, differing in their activities and target groups, but all united by a single method and approach to teaching the Musical disciplines.

All of our courses are designed with the desire to offer a comprehensive and enriching way that provides the skills necessary to continue on one’s path, respecting the artistic personality and aptitudes of each of our students.

All classes in all courses are guided and accompanied through the artistic disciplines of singing, dancing and acting, leading up to the staging of a final performance.

Every year the school organizes educational trips for its students to London or New York to take them to discover the world capitals of Musicals and attend the degree shows.

TRAINING OFFERING from October 4, 2021 to May 31, 2022.

• Spring Open Musical Course (5 – 14 years old)
• Summer Open Musical Course (ages 15 and up)

The Open Courses, which are open-access, run bi-weekly and are aimed at those new to the world of musicals who wish to learn the artistic disciplines directly from experienced teachers with many years of experience.

• Pre-Academic Course (ages 16 and up)

The Course has bimonthly frequency, committing students for 2 weekends per month. The disciplines covered provide young students with the skills and preparation to tackle the Three-Year Course for Musical Theater Actors.
Previous training is not strictly required, but an aptitude for the disciplines of the musical is recommended.
