Scuola del Teatro Musicale offers students with SLD services that ensure their inclusion in the academic community and accompanying them every step of the way in their course of study.

Interviews

In order to take full advantage of all the support available, the student with SLD must present appropriate certification of specific learning disorders (SLD), according to Legge 170/2010.
The certification must be issued by the National Health Service, a contracted private center or a private specialist and accompanied by a document of compliance from ASST – Azienda Socio Sanitaria Territoriale.
Once the matriculation procedures have been initiated, the student with SLD can book an individual interview in order to get more in-depth information on how to apply for and use the services.
During the interview, the certification produced by the student will be checked.

Request for interview

The interview should be requested via email at dsa@scuolateatromusicale.it taking care to include name, surname, phone number and reason for the request.

Support for teaching and contact with teachers

The procedure for requesting compensatory measures is for the student to send an email to the teacher, with copy to dsa@scuolateatromusicale.it specifying the compensatory measures he or she needs for the test. The request should be sent to teachers at least one month before the exam. Should the student wish to use concept maps, they must be attached to the email request as lecturers may propose modifications/reductions of the submitted material. To split the program over several papers, it is advisable to make the request at the beginning of the course lectures.

Recommended measures, taking into account the specifics of each individual student, may include for oral exams:

• Division into partials (in this case the request should be sent to the lecturer well in advance, if possible at the beginning or at least during the course);
• Concept maps. If used in the exam they must first be approved by the lecturers and then emailed at least one month before the test;
• Conversion to written form, only when there are requests consistent with the specific certification produced (this request must be shared with the contact person in advance).

For written exams:

• Additional time to take the test (usually 30% more);
• Division into partials (in the manner already indicated);
• Concept maps. If used in the exam they must first be approved by the lecturers and then emailed at least one month before the test;
• For “paper” written exams, the possibility of taking them on a PC (using Word, Pages, Excel or Numbers depending on the type of exam);
• Conversion to oral form, only if there are requests consistent with the specific certification produced (this request must be shared with the contact person in advance).

Book Loan

Students with SLD can take advantage of text lending facilities (extra time) at the library.
